Items that CANNOT be recycled with curbside recycling from First Star

At First Star recycling, we encourage that all our customers recycle all products possible, however we cannot accept certain items with our curbside recycling program. Recycling glass and electronics can cause harm to our employees. They also do not process the same way our plastics, paper, and aluminum products do. For example, soft plastics such as plastic grocery bags can get caught in our machinery and halt operations.

Please DO NOT recycle these items in your curbside recycling bin. These item can contaminate all of the other recyclables or pose a risk to our staff members on the sorting line.

Due to safety regulations and health regulations, we cannot accept the following items with curbside recycling:

  • Appliances (Fridges, Washers, etc)
  • Construction materials
  • Containers that held hazardous materials
  • Diapers
  • Electronics
  • Soft Plastics including
    • Film
    • Plastic Bags
    • Potato Chip Bags

  • Motor oil containers
  • Paper plates
